Brief Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Marshall Land Systems as an Assistant Project Manager. Within this role you will support the Project Director and wider Integrated Project Team in the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of project work packages.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating project documentation, deliverables, schedules, and work packages.
  • Supporting the planning and management of subcontracted activities and material shipments.
  • Maintaining and updating the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) to support delivery against agreed timescales.
  • Monitoring work packages to ensure delivery within agreed budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
  • Supporting effective communication and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Taking ownership of assigned work packages and supporting the identification and escalation of risks, issues, and potential delays.
  • Supporting the successful delivery of wider project objectives and undertaking additional duties as required.

  • Proven experience delivering work packages within a complex project environment.
  • Experience in project management, continuous improvement, or a similar management environment.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and use initiative.
  • Proactive and motivated approach, with the ability to work effectively as part of an Integrated Project Team.
  • Strong IT/ICT skills and experience using project management systems.

Technical Skills / Education

  • APM Project Management qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding of project management principles, planning, scheduling, budgets, and delivery.
  • Experience managing project documentation, work packages, and deliverables.
  • Engineering or Project Management background, preferably within Aerospace and/or Defence.
  • Project management and/or risk management qualifications or training.
  • Experience working in highly regulated or technically complex environments.
  • Experience working with subcontractors and external suppliers.

Additional Local Needs

  • Based on-site in Cambridge 3 days per week, with flexibility required to meet business needs.
  • Occasional travel to the South Wales site may be required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a BPSS security check.
