Job Description
Overview
Our Epsom Project Delivery Practice is looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a varied portfolio of infrastructure projects. You will work alongside experienced project professionals and multidisciplinary teams, gaining practical experience across project planning, controls, stakeholder engagement, commercial management and client delivery. As your capability grows, you will take ownership of defined activities and work packages. You will receive structured support, mentoring and development opportunities to help you build a long-term career in project management.
Your role
- Help plan, coordinate and deliver projects safely, efficiently and to the required quality.
- Maintain project plans, actions, risks, issues, decisions and key documentation.
- Prepare clear project reports, programme updates and client communications.
- Support cost tracking, forecasting, change control and performance reporting.
- Coordinate meetings and follow actions through to completion.
- Build effective relationships with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Use digital tools and project data to improve collaboration, reporting and decision-making.
- Take ownership of defined activities and work packages as your experience develops.
- Identify issues early, seek support where needed and help implement practical solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement across the wider Project Delivery Practice.
About you
Essential Requirements
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- A collaborative approach to working with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Initiative, curiosity and a willingness to take ownership.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
- An interest in digital project delivery, data and emerging technology.
- An interest in building a long-term career in project management.
- A relevant qualification, progress toward a qualification, or equivalent practical experience.

Desirable
- Experience in project support, coordination, administration, construction, engineering or consultancy.
- Awareness of project planning, risk, cost, change, governance or commercial management.
- Experience using project information, reporting or common data environment systems.
- An interest in gaining an APM qualification or relevant professional membership.
