Assistant Project Manager (Infrastructure)
Glasgow | Hybrid Working Contract Role | Ongoing Work
Manpower Engineering is recruiting on behalf of a leading international engineering and infrastructure consultancy that delivers major projects across the energy, utilities, transportation, defence and infrastructure sectors.
Due to continued project growth, an opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join a high-performing project delivery team supporting major infrastructure programmes across Scotland.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Project Directors, Project Managers and multidisciplinary delivery teams, supporting project controls, governance, risk management and change management activities on complex, long-term projects.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project delivery by maintaining visibility of project performance across cost, programme, risk and change.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Producing weekly and monthly project reporting packs and management information.
- Maintaining project controls processes and supporting performance reporting.
- Managing project risk and opportunity registers and facilitating risk review meetings.
- Administering project change control processes, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
- Supporting NEC contract administration activities.
- Coordinating project governance requirements and maintaining project records and audit trails.
- Assisting with forecasting, programme updates and financial performance reporting.
- Managing action trackers, decision logs and lessons learned registers.
- Supporting Project Boards and governance reviews with accurate and timely reporting.
- Maintaining SharePoint sites, reporting platforms and project dashboards.
- Working with geographically dispersed project teams to ensure consistent project controls and reporting standards.
- Identifying emerging risks, issues and performance trends and escalating as appropriate.

About You
Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience in project management, project controls, PMO, programme support or project delivery environments.
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Experience within infrastructure, utilities, energy, construction, defence or major capital projects.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience managing Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
- Understanding of project controls, governance, reporting and change management processes.
- Experience using tools such as CEMAR, Power BI, SharePoint or similar project management systems.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- The ability to work independently while supporting a wider project delivery team.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
