Walker Sime is a leading UK construction consultancy, established in Manchester in 1999. Known for technical excellence and commercial integrity, we deliver specialist cost management and project support services across major infrastructure, energy, and regeneration programmes.

We are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team supporting a major power and energy client. Based onsite near Wirral, you’ll be part of a high-performing team delivering complex infrastructure projects within a regulated utilities environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in project management, gaining exposure to large-scale programmes, structured delivery frameworks, and NEC contracts.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of project workstreams
  • Assisting with NEC contract administration (including early warnings, compensation events, and documentation)
  • Supporting cost control, forecasting, and risk management activities
  • Coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and key stakeholders
  • Assisting with project governance, reporting, and programme controls
  • Producing regular progress reports and presentations
  • Ensuring compliance with client standards, processes, and HSE requirements
  • Helping to resolve project issues and support smooth project delivery

Essential:

  • Experience within energy, utilities, infrastructure, or engineering environments
  • Understanding of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4) or willingness to develop knowledge
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Commercial awareness and exposure to project financials or cost reporting
  • Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficient in MS Office and reporting tools

Qualifications

  • Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, Commercial Management, or similar (desirable)
  • Professional accreditation (APM, PMI, RICS) beneficial but not essential
