ISS is recruiting an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of a large-scale Variable Works programme across a major UK government estate.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with construction, building services, FM or project coordination experience who is looking to develop their career within project management while working on a diverse range of projects across hundreds of sites nationwide. Projects include HVAC upgrades, fit-outs, fabric works, asset replacements, decorations, and general building alterations.

With significant site exposure and responsibility, this role is ideal for a hands-on project professional who enjoys being out on site, working with contractors, managing multiple workstreams, and helping ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This is a highly operational role involving regular site visits, contractor management, audits, project reporting, and stakeholder engagement. You'll act as the link between project teams, contractors, facilities teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple construction and building services projects.
  • Assist in managing projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular site visits, audits, and inspections across the UK.
  • Monitor contractor performance, quality, and compliance.
  • Support health and safety management, site inductions, and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project risks and support mitigation activities.
  • Produce project updates, progress reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Build effective working relationships with clients, operational teams, and contractors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
