Role Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as an Assistant Project Manager to support maternity leave cover, with an estimated end date of 23 August 2027.
Reporting to the Program Director – New Product Development & Sustaining, this role will support the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of projects by coordinating project activities, maintaining schedules, tracking risks and actions, and ensuring effective communication across cross-functional teams.
The Assistant Project Manager helps deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.

Key Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager consist of but are not limited to:
Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and milestones.
- Coordinate project activities across cross-functional teams.
- Track project progress against agreed timelines and deliverables.
- Support resource planning and workload management.
- Organize project meetings, workshops, and reviews.
Project Reporting
- Prepare regular project status reports and dashboards.
- Monitor and communicate schedule, cost, scope, and risk performance.
- Maintain project documentation, action logs, and decision registers.
- Provide accurate project updates to stakeholders.
Risk & Issue Management
- Support identification and assessment of project risks.
- Maintain risk and issue registers.
- Track mitigation actions and escalate concerns where appropriate.
- Assist in implementing corrective actions to keep projects on track.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate communication between project teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain and deliver weekly status reports to the Program Director.
- Support preparation of presentations and governance materials.
Financial & Resource Support
- Assist with project budgeting and forecast tracking.
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
- Support resource forecasting and capacity planning activities.
- Track purchase orders and project-related costs where applicable.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure project management processes and standards are followed.
- Maintain project documentation in line with company procedures.
- Support stage-gate reviews and approval processes.
- Assist with audit and compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
Essential
- No formal qualification but a demonstratable interest in Project Management.
- Basic understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Working towards Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2 Foundation, APM PFQ, PMP, or CAPM.
- Experience working within product development, engineering, manufacturing, or technical environments.
- Experience of Project Management tools such as MS Project
No project management experience necessary but experience of working with multi-discipline team across global locations will be an advantage.
