Job Introduction

Assistant Project Manager – Temporary Asset Disposal & Recovery

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, coordination, and tracking of asset recovery and disposal activities across multiple delivery units
  • Maintain and validate asset registers and associated disposal records
  • Support implementation of standardised disposal processes, procedures, and controls
  • Coordinate asset movements between sites, storage locations, suppliers, and disposal facilities
  • Liaise with operational teams to support safe and efficient lifting, loading, transport, and storage activities
  • Support governance and assurance activities related to temporary asset movements and disposals
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, approvals, and audit records are maintained
  • Support tracking of asset values, disposal returns, and recovery performance
  • Coordinate with Commercial and Finance teams regarding asset disposal records and reporting
  • Assist with auction preparation and liaison with approved auction providers
  • Coordinate interfaces between Logistics, Commercial, Procurement, Finance, Construction, Administration, and HS2 teams
  • Support communication and reporting requirements associated with the programme
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Construction-related qualification or equivalent experience
  • Basic understanding of commercial and package management principles
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Experience working within construction, logistics, plant, or infrastructure environments
  • Good IT and reporting skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Team player with a positive and collaborative attitude
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision
