The Role

Supports the delivery of infrastructure projects for Transport for Wales, coordinating project activities, stakeholders and governance requirements to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to agreed time, cost and quality objectives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager with contract management activities, including the administration of Early Warnings and Compensation Events, to help ensure projects are delivered to cost, quality and applicable project lifecycle requirements.
  • Arrange and attend risk reduction meetings and risk register reviews, supporting the identification, escalation and implementation of mitigation actions to manage project risks effectively.
  • Review project documentation submitted by delivery partners, supporting compliance with TfW governance, safety and project assurance requirements.
  • Support the planning and coordination of project delivery activities by attending planning and readiness meetings, engaging with stakeholders and reviewing documentation to ensure works are coordinated and suitably prepared for delivery.
  • Assist in providing pre-construction information, working with Project Managers and delivery teams to support compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM).
  • Maintain project records, action trackers, risk and issue registers and other project controls documentation to support effective project governance and reporting.
  • Support procurement activities by coordinating documentation, engaging with internal teams and suppliers, and maintaining procurement records to support the timely appointment and mobilisation of delivery partners.
  • Support the integration of environmental and sustainability requirements into project delivery, helping to ensure compliance with environmental legislation, project commitments and TfW sustainability objectives.
  • Support project governance activities, ensuring deliverables are prepared in line with project lifecycle requirements.
  • Support the review of programme submissions by coordinating with project teams, stakeholders and delivery partners to identify and escalate issues, risks or changes that could impact programme delivery.

Who We're Looking For

  • Possesses or is working towards a relevant qualification and/or professional accreditation (e.g. APM PFQ, APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the project lifecycle and supports delivery activities across its various stages.
  • Awareness of health, safety, environmental & Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015.
  • Communicates project information effectively within the project team and wider stakeholder group.
  • Ability to provide project administration on a range of Microsoft Office software packages, with the ability to monitor and update action trackers, programmes, project reporting, risk and issue processes.

Welsh Language Skills

While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
