The Opportunity

As an Assistant Project Manager, you'll work alongside experienced project professionals, gaining hands-on experience across project planning, delivery, stakeholder management, and commercial administration.
This role is designed for someone who is organised, ambitious, and eager to learn. You'll be given the support, training, and exposure needed to develop your project management capability while contributing to the successful delivery of high-profile programmes across OCU Group.
What You'll Do
- Support Project Managers with the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects from initiation through to completion.
- Assist in preparing project plans, schedules, reports, and documentation to support effective project control.
- Coordinate activities between internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor project progress and help identify risks, issues, and opportunities that may affect delivery.
- Maintain accurate project records, logs, meeting minutes, and performance reports.
- Support budget monitoring, cost tracking, and financial reporting activities.
- Prepare project updates and communicate progress to key stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the successful delivery of project objectives.

What You'll Bring
- A genuine interest in developing a career in project management.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a project support, coordination, administration, or planning role.
- Bonus if you have experience within utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or construction environments.
- It would be great if you have qualifications in project management, business administration, engineering, or a related discipline.
- It would be great if you've used project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello, or similar platforms.
- Working towards a project management qualification such as APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent would be advantageous.
