- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $97,256.00 to $108,166.00 + super
Our Conservation Programs team is currently seeking to appoint an Assistant Project Officer to support the delivery of environmental and coastal management projects that help protect and enhance NSW's natural assets.
Working within the Stockton Beach Repair project team, you will contribute to meaningful projects that support the sustainable management of the environment while delivering positive outcomes for communities across New South Wales.
In this role, you will provide project and operational support to assist with the development and delivery of key programs and projects. Responsibilities include monitoring project milestones and deliverables, undertaking research and analysis, preparing briefs, reports and project documentation, coordinating meetings, undertaking community engagement activities and providing administrative and secretariat support. You will work closely with project team members and stakeholders to support informed decision-making and ensure project objectives are delivered within agreed timeframes, quality standards and project methodologies.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated project professional to develop their project management experience in a coastal management setting while working on projects that contribute to the protection and restoration of important environmental and community assets.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Experience providing project, administrative or operational support within a project-based environment.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake research, analyse information and contribute to project briefs, reports and documentation.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating meetings, maintaining records and supporting project governance activities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation and reporting.
- A collaborative and customer-focused approach with the ability to build productive working relationships.
- Sound proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other systems used to support project delivery.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to integrity, accountability and achieving quality outcomes.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have qualifications and demonstrated experience in coastal management and coastal processes, environmental science, and related disciplines.

Essential Requirements
- Relevant experience in project coordination, project support, administration or a related field.
- Current NSW Driver Licence (if required by the hiring team).
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to NSW Public Sector values and behaviours.
