Role Description

The Assistant Property Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Dorking, supporting the day-to-day management of a portfolio of 1,400 properties. This role includes coordinating repairs and maintenance, liaising with tenants and landlords, and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner. The Assistant Property Manager will assist with ensuring records and documents are kept up to date, and support the preparation of service charge budgets and reports. The role also involves working with contractors, scheduling works, monitoring compliance with health and safety standards, and helping to resolve issues that arise on the estates. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Senior Property Manager and wider team to deliver high-quality service and maintain strong relationships with residents and clients.

Overview of the role:

The role will involve managing a portfolio of 1,400 units across South of London and Surrey and providing support in all aspects of property management for a well-established niche company.

  • Answering phones in a courteous and professional manner
  • Assisting with customer enquiries, leak investigations, and insurance claims
  • Supporting and have a general understanding of legal management packs
  • Assisting with actioning Fire, Health, and Safety recommendations
  • Assisting with AGMs
  • Issuing service charge year end accounting packs and Section 20 notices
  • Liaising with contractors and obtaining quotations
  • Assisting with invoices as per company procedures as required
  • Work with the SPM and provide office cover as and when required

Person Specification:

  • Experience in working in the property sector
  • Good experience in customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and taking a proactive approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team in an office environment
