Assistant Psychologist Positions

We are seeking two Assistant Psychologists (1 full-time, 1 part-time) to join the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma research group, based in the Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford.

You'll work closely with Professor Anke Ehlers on clinical trials of psychological treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder and social anxiety disorder and their dissemination into the NHS. This role will provide excellent experience of randomised controlled trials, working with NHS services and would suit individuals interested in going on to pursue a career in clinical psychology or clinical research.

If you have a psychology degree, experience of conducting research to protocol and you've set up and managed large databases then we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the administration of clinical trials of internet-delivered psychological treatments for PTSD and social anxiety disorder and their dissemination into the NHS
  • Liaise with therapists and referrers (clinical services and GPs), and the Clinical Trials Unit

  • Maintain databases for treatment studies, and monitor completeness of data
  • Liaise with web developers and users about the functionality of the internet therapy programmes
  • Assist with the creation of materials (videos and written materials) for the internet-delivered psychological treatments and training website for therapists as needed

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
