About the Role
We are seeking to recruit a full-time Band 4 Assistant Psychologist who is seeking to pursue a career as a clinical psychologist. You will have gained at least a 2:1 degree in Psychology with Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, with the British Psychological Society eligibility. This role is for a 2-year fixed-term position.
Key Responsibilities
- You will be well-supported in a well-established and valued post, working within the multi-disciplinary team, alongside, and supervised by a qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
- You will be based at Gateway House in Wymondham within the South Norfolk Adult CMHT though you may need to travel to attend in person meetings or patient appointments within the central locality.
- Due to the rural geography of South Norfolk, you will need a UK driving licence to be able to fulfil the duties of this role.
- You will be responsible for providing time-limited and focused psychological interventions, including co-facilitating group sessions across the central locality.
- You will work in a psychologically informed way alongside an existing assistant psychologist, trainee clinical psychologists on placement as well as the qualified members of the psychology team and wider MDT.
- There will be opportunities to contribute to team training and reflective practice, as well as involvement in service-related audits and evaluation relevant to service needs, under the supervision of a qualified member of staff.

Requirements
- The post will suit an enthusiastic and motivated psychology graduate, ideally with post-graduate clinical experience in the NHS, who can show an ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team and is passionate about the contribution of a psychological approach to multi-disciplinary care.
- Prior experience of working with adults with mental health difficulties would be an advantage, or evidence of significant transferrable skills.
