Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Quantity Surveyor role based in England, United Kingdom. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will support the commercial team with cost planning, measurement, and preparation of bills of quantities for joinery and fit-out projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with cost control, monitoring project budgets, preparing interim valuations, and supporting cost reporting and final account preparation. The role involves working closely with project managers, design teams, and suppliers to ensure accurate pricing, timely procurement, and effective financial management. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will also help maintain project documentation, support tender preparation, and contribute to continuous improvement of cost management processes.

- Ability to perform cost planning and cost management tasks, including budget preparation and monitoring.
- Experience in cost control and cost reporting to track project financial performance.
- Knowledge of BOQ (Bills of Quantities) production, measurement, and take-offs for joinery and fit-out works.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and IT skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets and quantity surveying software.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline (or working toward such a qualification).
- Understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial best practices.
- Effective communication, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site.
- Prior experience in joinery, interiors, or fit-out projects is an advantage but not essential.
