An Exciting Opportunity for an Ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK infrastructure organisation delivering major investment projects across critical utility networks. This role offers the chance to develop your career within a business responsible for maintaining and enhancing nationally significant infrastructure that supports essential services and long-term regional growth.

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially minded individual who is eager to build a career in quantity surveying and project delivery. Working alongside experienced commercial professionals and Project Managers, you will support the financial and contractual management of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.

  • Assisting with contract administration
  • Cost control
  • Payment certification
  • Expenditure forecasting
  • Risk management activities
  • Tender evaluations
  • Contributing to commercial reporting
  • Supplier engagement
  • Dispute resolution processes

You will gain exposure to all aspects of project commercial management while developing your technical and professional expertise.

Requirements

  • Ideally hold, or be working towards, a Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent professional qualification
  • Base knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Good level of commercial awareness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience within utilities, construction, or infrastructure environments would be advantageous
