Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Glasgow
£38,415 - £40,436 per year
35 hours per week – Monday to Friday
We have an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Property Services Scotland Regional Commercial team, based in Glasgow. The team supports the region's operational team in all things financial from pricing reinvestment works, budget monitoring and reporting and contractor management.
The role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor will include:
- Assisting the Regional Quantity Surveyor in preparing costs, budget monitoring and reporting
- Carrying out on-site surveys as directed by the Regional Quantity Surveyor
- Help deliver projects on budget whilst ensuring value for money and quality standards are met
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers, comfortable in dealing with a range of stakeholders
- Maintain accurate financial monitoring systems and reports relating to service delivery, performance, budgets, proactively identifying service delivery issues and ensuring their timely resolution, escalating matters where appropriate
- Supporting operational teams by delivering and improving commercial and administrative processes that enhance financial performance, efficiencies, and improve customer satisfaction
- Attend projects and commercial meetings, track risks, taking actions and supporting reporting requirements
- Maintain purchase order values and support invoice management processes

Skills and experiences:
- To ensure full compliance with CDM 2015 legislation, candidates applying for this role must be qualified to Degree, HND or HNC in Quantity Surveying or Construction. As part of the interview process, candidates will be required to bring with them the original certification verifying proof of their qualifications. Copies and CSCS cards will not be accepted
- Experience of managing commercial administration for reinvestment programmes and ad hoc capital projects in a social housing or similar environment
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages to include, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication and analytical skills

Role salary is £33,387 with an additional policy allowance of £5,028 per annum (rising to £35,144 with an additional policy allowance of £5,292 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
