Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Major PBSA Development

Location: North West London
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Comprehensive Package
Sector: Purpose-Built Student Accommodation / High-Rise Residential
Position: Permanent

The Opportunity:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a leading London developer delivering a major new high-rise student accommodation scheme in North West London.

The development will deliver approximately 1,000 student bedrooms across a substantial multi-storey RC-frame scheme, together with extensive resident amenities, communal areas and landscaped public realm.

This is a strong opportunity for an Assistant QS looking to move beyond a purely support-based position and take genuine commercial responsibility for their own subcontract packages on a large, complex development.

You’ll join an experienced commercial team and work closely with Senior Quantity Surveyors and the Commercial Manager, gaining exposure to the full commercial lifecycle from procurement and tendering through to cost reporting and final account.

The developer has a strong pipeline of major London projects, providing excellent long-term career prospects and a clear route towards Project Quantity Surveyor level.

The Role:

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take responsibility for allocated subcontract packages while supporting the wider commercial management of the development.

You’ll be involved from early procurement through construction and account management, developing the commercial skills required to independently manage increasingly significant packages.

This role is designed for someone who wants to build genuine project ownership and progress their career within a major developer environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
