Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Tier 1 Privately Owned Contractor | West of Glasgow | Permanent

Operating across exciting and technically challenging sectors including defence, advanced manufacturing, high-tech facilities, and specialist construction projects, this is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to build their career within a supportive and high-performing environment.


Your new role

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will join an experienced commercial team on a significant project located west of Glasgow. Working closely with senior commercial professionals, you will gain exposure to all aspects of the commercial function while supporting the successful delivery of a major project.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with cost management and financial reporting
  • Supporting the procurement and management of subcontractor packages
  • Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
  • Assisting with contract administration and change control procedures
  • Working collaboratively with operational and project delivery teams
  • Supporting monthly forecasting and reporting requirements

This role offers the opportunity to learn from highly experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers within a structured and supportive environment.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree qualified or working towards qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Previous experience within a contractor environment, either through placement, graduate, or assistant-level experience
  • Strong commercial awareness and a willingness to learn
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ambition to develop a long-term career within a leading main contractor
