Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Glasgow
£35,000 - £45,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
A leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within a major long-term infrastructure framework delivering essential utility and civil engineering projects across Scotland.
Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers, you will support the commercial management of projects from inception through to final account, gaining exposure to a broad range of civil engineering and infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with cost management and financial reporting across multiple projects.
- Supporting the preparation of valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
- Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and variations.
- Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
- Assisting with procurement and subcontract administration.
- Supporting contract compliance and commercial reporting requirements.
- Liaising with operational teams to ensure accurate project forecasting and cost control.

Requirements
- Degree or HND qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure projects preferred.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ambitious, driven and keen to develop a long-term career within the civil engineering sector.
