Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Data Centres

We are working with a specialist construction and engineering contractor with over 40 years’ experience delivering complex projects across the data, defence and energy sectors.
The business is growing rapidly in the UK’s data centre market, delivering technically demanding, mission-critical developments for major clients. With expertise spanning design, construction and engineering, they are involved throughout the project lifecycle and have built a strong reputation for quality, long-term client relationships and complex project delivery.
Your new role
You will join the commercial team on a major data centre development, comprising 18 data halls and approximately 24MW of usable IT power, alongside significant HV/MV energy infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain hands-on experience on a high-value, technically complex project while working alongside an experienced commercial team.

You will:
- Support cost reporting, forecasting, valuations and measurement across allocated work packages.
- Assist with procurement, tender analysis and subcontractor management.
- Support subcontract valuations, variations, payments and final accounts.
- Identify and record change, commercial risks and contractual matters.
- Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients.
- Take increasing ownership of commercial activities as you develop towards a Quantity Surveyor role.
What you'll need to succeed
- HNC, HND or degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience within a construction or project environment.
- Understanding of commercial processes, procurement and subcontract administration.
- Experience supporting valuations, measurement or cost reporting.
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and genuine ambition to progress.
- Working towards RICS or another relevant professional qualification is desirable.
