Job Title

For over 60 years, we have been delivering premium homes for a life less ordinary. Built with care, quality and attention to detail, our homes are set within carefully planned, sustainable communities in beautifully chosen locations, giving our customers a home they’ll love.

Our success is built on exceptional people, and we’re committed to attracting, developing and retaining the very best talent in the industry. We’ll give you the support, opportunities and culture to thrive, grow your career and be part of something that matters in a place where you can truly belong.

Crest Nicholson are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to be based on site, assisting on one of our Legacy Projects in the Milton Keynes area.

We take pride in delivering homes that exceed our customers’ expectations, and our Quantity Surveyors play a critical role in making that happen. From managing costs and driving value to building strong relationships with our supply chain, you’ll help shape the commercial success of developments that will become part of people’s lives for generations to come.

As an HBF five-star builder, we’re continually investing in our premium homes and evolving our house types to meet the needs of today’s homebuyers. That means we need commercially minded people who know that the detail matters, take ownership of their decisions and won’t settle for ‘good enough’. People who can balance cost, quality and value to help us deliver homes to exceptional standards.

You’ll take ownership of the commercial management of your project. From procurement and cost planning to subcontractor payments, valuations, forecasting and contractual matters, you’ll play a pivotal role in protecting margins, managing risk and driving performance.

Working closely with our operational teams, subcontractors and wider business, you’ll use your commercial expertise to make informed decisions, challenge where necessary and ensure the project is delivered efficiently, sustainably and to the highest possible standard.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
