A well-established construction and civil engineering contractor is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in Somerset.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop their career within a supportive and growing business, working on a diverse range of construction, groundworks, and civil engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the management of project costs from inception through to final account.
- Support the preparation of valuations, variations, cost reports, and forecasts.
- Help manage subcontractor and supplier accounts.
- Assist with procurement and commercial administration.
- Monitor project expenditure and support cost control activities.
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to support successful project delivery.

About You
- Degree qualified, studying towards, or interested in pursuing a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within construction or civil engineering is desirable.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Keen to learn and progress within a commercial role.
