Job Summary

Looking for an opportunity to develop your career in Quantity Surveying? At GRAHAM, our growing Interior Fit Out Division is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team in delivering high-quality fit-out projects.

Job Description

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team across all stages of interior fit-out projects. Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, and Site Teams, you will gain valuable exposure to cost management, procurement, valuations, subcontractor administration, and commercial reporting.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assisting with project budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Supporting the preparation of valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
  • Assisting with subcontractor procurement and administration.
  • Helping to manage variations and change control processes.
  • Supporting the preparation of cost forecasts and cash flow reporting.
  • Assisting in the review of subcontractor performance and account management.
  • Working closely with project and site teams to monitor progress and commercial performance.
  • Participating in client, subcontractor, and project meetings as required.
  • Developing your understanding of JCT and NEC contracts and commercial management practices within the fit-out sector.

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Trainee, Graduate, Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role within construction or interior fit-out.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a commercial and project team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

Desirable

  • Experience working on interior fit-out, refurbishment, or commercial construction projects.
  • Understanding of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Knowledge of cost reporting, valuations, and subcontractor management processes.
  • Working towards professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB.
  • Interest in developing a long-term career within Quantity Surveying and Interior Fit Out.
