Role Description
This is a full-time, Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor role based in Newbury. They will manage project costs from feasibility through to final account, including preparing and reviewing bills of quantities, cost plans, and tender documents.

Responsibilities:

- Monitoring expenditure
- Producing cost reports
- Valuing works
- Managing variations
- Supporting procurement and subcontractor negotiations
The role involves close collaboration with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure financial control, contractual compliance, and value for money. The Quantity Surveyor will also contribute to risk management, forecasting, and ongoing improvement of cost management processes.
Qualifications
- Strong cost planning and cost management skills, including experience with budgeting and forecasting.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation, measurement, and tender documentation.
- Experience in cost control and cost reporting for construction projects.
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of standard construction contracts and procurement methods.
- Competence with industry-standard estimating and costing software, and MS Office tools.
- Effective analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Experience in similar UK construction projects is highly beneficial.
