MMB has successfully extended its contract with Thames Water for an additional five years. As the largest water and wastewater provider in the UK, Thames Water serves 15 million customers throughout London and the Thames Valley. This extension will carry the current agreement through to the end of AMP8 in March 2030. MMB is delivering work on three frameworks in the region, which sees us undertake a varied programme of water and wastewater non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects to improve the network.
Role: Assistant Quantity Surveyor
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial delivery of Thames Water projects while developing your skills and experience as part of an established commercial team. These include clean water and wastewater treatment schemes, network infrastructure projects such as mains renewals, environmental improvement projects, and storm overflow reduction programmes.

The Role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor Includes
- Supporting the commercial team in maintaining robust cost management processes and producing accurate reports, forecasts, and analysis.
- Assisting with subcontractor and supplier procurement activities, including tender enquiries and evaluations.
- Supporting the administration and management of subcontract accounts.
- Assisting with the measurement and valuation of works, variations, and applications for payment.
- Working closely with project delivery teams to monitor costs and identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements.
- Supporting the identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
- Assisting with the preparation of commercial documentation and project reporting.
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

What You'll Need
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, or currently working towards one.
- Some experience in a Quantity Surveying, commercial, or construction environment, whether through employment, placements, or internships.
- An understanding of construction contracts. A knowledge of NEC contracts is desirable.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop within a commercial role.
- Good communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
