About The Role
The Assistant Restaurant Manager for Kerridge’s Bar & Grill is responsible for assisting the Restaurant Management in overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant. This role ensures that all guests receive exceptional service, while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality, food quality, and operational efficiency. The Assistant Restaurant Manager will supervise front-of-house staff, liaise with the kitchen team, and work to foster a positive and productive atmosphere in the restaurant. This role also involves managing guest relations, resolving issues, and supporting the Restaurant Management in driving the restaurant’s success.
About You
- Experience in a fine-dining environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of front-of-house operations, including service standards, guest relations, and restaurant procedures.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software (e.g., POS systems, reservation systems) and financial management tools.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and food safety regulations, including hygiene standards and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health).
- Formal qualifications in hospitality management, such as a degree or diploma in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Food Safety and Hygiene Certification (Level 2 or higher).
- WSET (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) or equivalent wine knowledge is desirable for managing beverage service and pairing.
- Experience in staff training and development, including performance appraisals and career development plans for front-of-house staff.
- Financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and achieving sales targets.
- Proficiency in a second language (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian) can be beneficial in a multicultural environment and for enhancing guest communication.
