Assistant Restaurant Manager

We are currently recruiting for experienced and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team at one of our conference venues in Birmingham B4 7ET.

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week on a rota basis.

We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high-end ethos throughout.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for hospitality who enjoys leading by example in a busy, customer-focused environment. Working alongside the Restaurant Manager, you'll help deliver an exceptional food and beverage service across the restaurant, hospitality and conference facilities, while supporting the development of the front of house team.

You'll be part of a varied operation serving around 300 guests each day, offering everything from breakfast and fine dining to finger buffets, hot buffets, canapés, table d'hôte menus and private dinners. No two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day running of the restaurant and hospitality service
  • Leading and motivating the front of house team to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Assisting with private dining, conferences, functions and events
  • Supporting stock control, ordering and food safety compliance
  • Training and developing team members while maintaining high service standards
  • Assisting with duty management responsibilities and evening functions when required

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role within hospitality
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant, hotel or conference venue
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to lead and inspire a team
  • Good knowledge of food safety and health and safety practices
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including occasional evenings
