Location: Battersea Power Station, London
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week. Shift-based, retail stores operate 7 days a week between 9:00am and 9:00pm. This role requires flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £32,000 per annum plus Sales Incentive Plan

As Assistant Retail Store Manager, you will work closely with the Retail Store Manager to help create a store that feels welcoming, inspiring and unmistakably Virgin Atlantic Holidays. You will support the team, delight our guests and help turn holiday dreams into carefully planned, unforgettable escapes.
This is a brilliant role for someone who loves being close to the guest and close to the team. You will lead from the front, bring energy to the sales floor and help colleagues feel confident, supported and excited about what they do.
Day to day
No two days will feel quite the same. One moment you might be helping a guest choose the perfect Caribbean escape, the next you could be coaching a colleague through a brilliant conversation or stepping in to keep the store running smoothly.
Working alongside our award-winning Retail team who share your passion and dedication to delivering outstanding guest service, you will:
- Lead by example, delivering warm, expert and personal service that helps guests feel excited and confident about their holiday
- Support guests with trusted advice, thoughtful recommendations and the kind of care that turns a booking into the start of something memorable
- Coach and encourage Retail Advisors through side-by-side selling, feedback and everyday support
- Step in for the Store Manager when needed, giving the team clear direction and making sure the store feels calm, confident and welcoming
- Help the store understand what is working well, where guests need more from us and where the team can keep growing
- Keep the important things running smoothly and responsibly, including ABTA, ATOL, health and safety and data protection
- Support local activity, community connections and partnerships that help more people discover Virgin Atlantic Holidays
- Help create a positive team culture where people feel included, motivated and proud to represent the brand

About You
You will be a people-first leader who enjoys helping others grow, creating brilliant guest moments and bringing positive energy to a busy retail environment. You care about results, but you know the best results come from trust, confidence and genuine connection.
You will bring:
- Experience in a guest-facing retail, travel or hospitality environment, with supervisory or team leadership experience and a strong track record of delivering sales results
- A natural coach who enjoys supporting colleagues to grow their confidence, capability and performance through everyday leadership
- A track record of delivering strong sales or service results, along with good commercial awareness and curiosity about what guests want and what helps a store succeed
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to handle guest escalations and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organised, adaptable and resilient, with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining high operational and compliance standards
