Job Responsibilities

The Assistant Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business growth by promoting IT consultation, system development, and Digital Transformation (DX) solutions—including AI technology—primarily to Japanese enterprises in the UK and European region.

This role requires a structured Enterprise Account Management approach, focusing on deep client relationship management, understanding complex business requirements (especially in the Automotive OEM and Manufacturing sectors), and proposing tailored, high-value technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Account Management & Business Development

  • Manage, nurture, and grow key enterprise accounts (particularly Japanese companies, with a strong focus on Automotive OEMs and Manufacturing industries).
  • Execute structured enterprise account sales strategies, including account planning, stakeholder mapping, and long-term customer engagement.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities for bespoke system development, AI applications, and DX solutions. Conduct high-level sales presentations and pitch complex IT/DX solutions to senior executives and key decision-makers.

Client Engagement & Solution Delivery

  • Work closely with clients to gather detailed technical and business requirements for custom application services and software solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams, project managers, and engineers to craft competitive and feasibility-checked proposals.
  • Lead contract negotiations, service scope definitions, and commercial discussions.

Internal Management & Sales Operations

  • Assist the Sales Manager in team coordination, sales planning, forecasting, and target tracking.
  • Manage internal project tasks, cross-departmental coordination, and regional reporting.
  • Support the Sales Manager in daily operational leadership and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications, Skills & Personal Qualities

Languages:

  • Japanese: Native or Business fluent (JLPT N1 equivalent) with a solid understanding of Japanese corporate culture, communication protocols, and decision-making processes.
  • English: Business fluent (written and spoken).

Account Management:

  • Proven ability in enterprise account management, executive relationship building, and consultative selling.

Communication:

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; ability to articulate complex IT/AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Essential

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Sales Experience: 5+ years of successful track record in B2B enterprise sales or consultative solutions selling within the IT/Tech industry.
  • Key Industry & Solution Focus:
    • Hands-on sales/business development experience in System Development for Automotive OEMs / Manufacturing industries, OR
    • Proven experience in selling AI, Data Analytics, or Digital Transformation (DX) solutions.
  • Enterprise Account Management: Experience managing high-value key accounts, navigating complex procurement processes, and building long-term business partnerships.
  • Cultural Competency: Direct working experience with Japanese corporate clients and a strong understanding of Japanese business etiquette and organizational dynamics.

Desirable

  • Prior experience in IT system integration (SIer), software development consultancies, or cloud service providers.
  • Technical background or familiarity with modern software development lifecycles, enterprise architecture, or AI integration.
  • Additional European language skills (e.g., German) are a plus.
