Renault Retail Group is looking for an experienced Assistant New Car Sales Manager to join our team at Renault Romford, located on the Southend Arterial Road in Harold Wood (RM3).
This role combines commercial, coaching, and finance leadership responsibilities normally associated with Sales Controller and Business Manager positions.
Working alongside the General Sales Manager, you'll support the performance, profitability, and day-to-day operation of the New Car Sales Team, helping Sales Executives succeed while maintaining high standards of customer experience and finance compliance.
You'll help lead a New Car Sales Team comprising Sales Executives, a Sales Apprentice, and a Vehicle Progressor.
What You'll Do
- Support the General Sales Manager in delivering New Car sales targets, profitability objectives, and manufacturer performance standards
- Coach, develop, and support the New Car Sales Team to maximise customer engagement, conversion rates, product knowledge, and process compliance
- Monitor sales performance, activity levels, key performance indicators, forecasts, and sales pipeline activity
- Structure vehicle deals and assist with complex sales transactions where required
- Present and oversee finance, insurance, and add-on products in a compliant and customer-focused manner
- Work with finance providers and lenders to secure suitable funding solutions for customers
- Support vehicle appraisals, stock management, manufacturer forecasting, and pipeline activity
- Ensure leads, enquiries, appointments, follow-up activity, and customer escalations are handled professionally and effectively
- Maintain high standards of compliance, manufacturer process adherence, and customer satisfaction
- Lead the New Car Sales operation in the General Sales Manager's absence

What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from candidates with previous experience as a Sales Controller, Business Manager, Transaction Manager, F&I Manager, Assistant Sales Manager, or Senior Sales Executive within a franchised automotive dealership environment.
You should be able to demonstrate a successful track record in automotive retail sales, a strong understanding of finance and insurance products, and experience coaching or developing Sales Executives. Strong organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills are essential.
Experience using CRM systems, dealership management systems, and sales performance reporting tools would be advantageous. Experience with Renault or Dacia products would be beneficial but is not essential.
Driving Licence Requirement: A full UK driving licence (manual and automatic vehicles) is essential for this role.
Hours & Pay
This role operates on a 3-week rota, typically comprising four weekdays plus Saturday, with one week in three comprising three weekdays plus Saturday and Sunday.

Working hours are 8:30am-6:00pm Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm Saturday, and 10:00am-4:00pm Sunday. A 1-hour lunch break applies Monday to Saturday.
Basic salary is £35,000 pa, with OTE of £70,000 pa that is achievable, regularly reached, and uncapped.
Access to Renault Retail Group's ECOS/ECOP vehicle scheme is included.
