About The Role:

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, 06:30 - 18:30

To contribute to the safety and security of Alton Towers Resort, staff, guests, and visitors. To manage the security measures deployed at Alton Towers Resort.

To manage the running of the Security Control room, including all integrated security and safety systems to ensure optimum security levels are maintained across the resort be it physical measures or technological measures.

To manage the Security team resource and all associated people processes.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Understand and actively contribute to the delivery of Alton Towers Resorts Security Strategy and Venue Risk Assessment to ensure requirements are met.
  • To assist with the coordination of evacuation and all other incident management procedures relating to hotels, escalating through the appropriate channels when necessary. Utilising all forms of communication and surveillance.
  • To manage the team of security officers in line with Alton Towers Resorts policy and procedures.
  • Manage the deployment of the security team to ensure maximum optimisation of resource
  • To manage the team’s rota, sickness and annual leave to ensure that there is always suitable cover.
  • To be the point of contact for all initial team queries or escalations.
  • Manage the security control room, systems and its access to ensure compliance with Alton Towers Resorts CCTV Policy, reporting any areas of non-compliance to the relevant responsible teams.
  • Communicate with all emergency services and other relevant stakeholders when necessary. Particularly in regard to incident management such as evacuations and major security incidents/threats.
  • To audit delivery from the security team to identify any training gaps. To source or deliver training to address these gaps.
  • Monitor and manage access to Alton Towers Resort premises and restricting access to ensure there are no unauthorised personnel.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of Alton Towers Resorts visitor management system and support procedures to ensure they are adhered to.
  • Conduct person, property, and vehicle searches to meet Alton Towers Resorts policies and procedures, or as requested by Operations management.
  • To manage the use of the EIDOS software system to ensure it is being used correctly and to its full capacity.
  • Assist the Security Operations Manager in developing standard processes and procedures for the security team and ensure they are implemented.
  • Support the wider Alton Towers team’s pre, during and post events on all matters related to security.
  • Communicate and liaise effectively both verbally and in writing with all visitors to Alton Towers Resort to ensure excellent standards of customer service.
  • To communicate effectively with all resort stakeholders to promote a combined approach to security responses on the Resort.
  • To manage the control room, when required utilising the appropriate systems to aid a safe and secure event delivery, including ingress, egress and internal escalations. This will include the use of CCTV, EDOB and access systems.
  • Attend and participate in relevant event related meetings and forums.
