An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cardiac Sciences Directorate at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
We are looking for two dynamic and enthusiastic individuals to join our management team. The candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellent administrative and managerial skills, highly proficient digital skills, good communication and ability to organise and prioritise their own and their team workload.
Our world-class cardiology and cardiothoracic service at Hammersmith Hospital is a tertiary referral cardiac centre led by academic specialists who are leaders in their field. We use cutting-edge clinical innovations to treat and prevent heart conditions and offer a full range of investigations, treatments and management for cardiac conditions.
We provide cardiac assessment and treatment for a broad range of patients, including specialist clinics for patients with end-stage kidney disease, as well as offer a national pulmonary hypertension service. Although our cardiology service is primarily based at Hammersmith Hospital, we also offer our services at St Mary’s and Charing Cross hospitals.
The two Assistant Service Management positions have direct responsibility over:
Position 1: Referral to Treatment performance, Cancer performance, Inpatients scheduling of Cardiology and Cardiothoracic patients as well as direct admin management of the Pulmonary Hypertension service. The post holder will be working closely with the Cathlabs and Inpatients MDT.

Position 2: Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Outpatient services with direct responsibility of service devolved clinics and direct responsibility over a number of outpatient RTT pathways (Cardiology, Inherited Cardiac Conditions, Lipid Service, Arrythmia service, Hypertension, Syncope unit etc).
Both post holders will be mainly based at Hammersmith Hospital. However, traveling to other sites could be expected. Both post holders will have overall responsibility for efficient running of the administrative function, maintaining effective office/ departmental systems and processes. You will be required to work with other members of the wider team to ensure quality standards are adhered to. As a line manager, you will have to ensure that the team is aware of relevant Trust policies and procedures relating to service delivery. Take responsibility for the even distribution of workload within the department, initiating amendments or improvements where necessary.
