Viridor is at the forefront of waste management and resource recovery in the UK, operating the largest network of Energy Recovery Facilities (ERFs). We play a crucial role in supporting the UK's climate goals by diverting waste from landfills and transforming it into valuable energy resources.

Opportunity in Glasgow Recycling & Renewables Centre (GRREC)

We have an opportunity in Glasgow Recycling & Renewables Centre (GRREC) for an Assistant Shift Team Leader to join our team working 40 hours per week, on a 5 week shift pattern including days, nights and weekends.

  • Salary: £56,529 per year, inclusive of shift allowance

Role Responsibilities

The Assistant Shift Team Leader:

  • Supervises and provides direction to the shift team at the ERF site
  • Plans, implements and monitors systems and processes through good practice to maximise the process and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance on a 24 hour shift system
  • Will deputise for the Shift Team Leader, as required
  • Undertakes the role of Senior Authorised Person (SAP), complying with the ERF Safe System of Work
  • Supervises contractors when carrying out activities on site
  • Works within the Maintenance Department to implement and carry out maintenance activities to ensure plant availability is maximised
  • Builds and maintains relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication across the site
  • Is required to be totally flexible and carry out other duties identified from time to time to ensure site objectives are achieved
