The Opportunity
A leading UK PLC House Builder is seeking an ambitious and driven Assistant Site Manager to join the team on an exciting new 90-unit traditional build residential development in Ongar, Essex.
Reporting directly to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of high-quality homes, ensuring exceptional standards of health and safety, build quality, customer satisfaction, and programme performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring Site Manager to develop their career with a nationally recognised developer renowned for delivering quality homes and investing in employee progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of the development.
- Coordinate subcontractors and trades to ensure works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to programme.
- Monitor build quality and ensure all homes meet company standards and NHBC requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections and quality assurance checks.
- Assist with health and safety compliance across the site.
- Ensure materials, labour and plant resources are effectively managed.
- Support customer care objectives by delivering defect-free homes at handover.
- Attend site meetings and maintain accurate site records.
- Assist in achieving production targets and key build milestones.
- Promote a positive site culture focused on quality, safety and teamwork.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Finishing Foreman, Site Supervisor or similar role within residential housebuilding.
- Experience working on traditional build housing developments.
- Strong knowledge of NHBC standards and building regulations.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multiple workstreams.
- Passion for delivering quality homes and exceptional customer service.
- Ambition to progress to Site Manager level.
