Our client is a leading residential developer with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality homes and creating outstanding communities across the South West. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join their construction team on a residential development in Bristol.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Site Manager looking to develop their career with a respected housebuilder, working alongside experienced Site and Project Managers on a busy residential scheme.
The Role
As Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the development, helping to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards of quality. You will play a key role in coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress and maintaining excellent health and safety standards while gaining valuable experience across all stages of the construction process.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of a residential construction site.
- Support the Site Manager in delivering the build programme safely, on time and within budget.
- Supervise subcontractors and monitor the quality of workmanship.
- Carry out regular site inspections and quality checks.
- Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are maintained at all times.
- Assist with site inductions and toolbox talks.
- Coordinate materials, deliveries and site logistics.
- Monitor progress against programme and report any issues.
- Help manage snagging, defect resolution and handovers.
- Build positive working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager, Finishing Foreman, Finishing Manager or Site Supervisor within residential construction.
- Experience working for a residential developer or main contractor on new-build housing projects.
- A good understanding of traditional and timber frame construction methods.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of current health and safety legislation and site management procedures.
- SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS Card and First Aid qualification.
