Assistant Site Manager – Permanent Position
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction contractor for an experienced Assistant Site Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will have a solid building trade background, combined with proven experience working as an Assistant Site Manager on live construction projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced construction professional looking for a long-term permanent position with a reputable contractor.
The Role
Working closely with the Site Manager and wider project team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day management and successful delivery of the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day running and management of the site
- Supervising and coordinating subcontractors and trades
- Monitoring progress against programme and ensuring works are delivered to schedule
- Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
- Ensuring health & safety procedures and site rules are adhered to
- Carrying out site inductions, toolbox talks and safety checks
- Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team
- Assisting with site documentation, inspections and quality control
- Identifying and resolving issues on site alongside the Site Manager
- Maintaining excellent standards of housekeeping and site organisation

About You
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager who has previously worked in this position and understands the demands of managing a busy construction site.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager – essential
- A strong building trade background
- Experience working on live construction projects
- SMSTS – essential
- First Aid – essential
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site processes
- Good understanding of health & safety requirements
- Experience supervising subcontractors and trades
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a site management team
- A proactive and professional approach with strong attention to detail
