We have a range of development sites within Northumberland, details of which can be found on our website www.ascent-homes.co.uk. We also have plans for new sites and have recently started work on a development in Newbiggin as well as the conversion of Richard Stannard House in Blyth.
Within the wider Advance Northumberland Group, our activities include private sector residential letting, commercial real estate, Green Futures (our Ecology and Sustainability team) as well as our Projects and Corporate teams.

Overview
About The Role
As an Assistant Site Manager at one of our development sites, you will support Joe our Site Manager with responsibility for the full build process, managing sub-contractors and build schedule.
Salary: Competitive salary with excellent benefits
Location: You will be working initially at our Scholars Park development in Moorside, although our expectation is that you will move to other sites within Northumberland as the build completes.

Location: Ascent Homes Construction Site
Role Purpose:
To assist the Site Manager in their duties to manage and co-ordinate the day to day activities on site, running projects from inception to contractual handover
Duties And Responsibilities:
- To successfully assist in the delivery of new build and refurbishment construction projects, safely, to the specified quality, on time and to budget.
- Develop a close working partnership with the Quantity Surveyor to enable accurate reporting on the current and projected financial status of schemes as well as identifying any contractual or commercial risks.
- To ensure adherence to and monitor health and safety procedures and documentation on site in compliance with current health and safety policy and legislation.
- Ensure segregation of “build areas” from handed over “purchaser areas” at all times.
- Ensure sites are kept to the highest standard of cleanliness and presentation appropriate to that of a large regional housebuilder.
- Monitor material stocks on site and assist the Site Manager with requisition of materials and plant through the Buyer in a timely manner to allow procurement to meet the construction programme.
- Effective liaison with Head Office departments, on-site Sales Executives, Subcontract suppliers and external Clients.
- Ensure all snagging and post entry snagging is completed on time and that Ascent Homes Customer Care Department are kept updated on a weekly basis.
- To foster and encourage equality of opportunity and adhere to data protection requirements.
- Act as the principal site supervisor in the event of Site Manager absence i.e. annual leave.

Essential Criteria
You Must Have:
- Qualified to relevant Construction qualifications or significant industry experience including housing & commercial projects.
- Experienced Assistant Site Manager – working to tight timeframes.
- Track record of successful delivery of construction projects valued over £1 million in the private / commercial sector.
- Awareness of the NHBC Standards and compliance requirements.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- CSCS Card.
- Ideally you will have qualifications that include - SMSTS, First Aid, Scaffold Awareness, Working at Heights.
