Role: Assistant Site Manager
Location: Strood, Kent
Project: 100-unit traditional-build housing scheme
Salary: £45,000–£55,000 + package

We are working with an established and respected regional house builder to recruit an experienced Assistant Site Manager for a 100-home traditional-build development in Strood, Kent.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join a well-run project and play a key role in delivering a high-quality residential development from construction through to completion.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Senior Site Manager, you will be the No.2 on site, supporting the day-to-day management and delivery of the development.
You will be responsible for helping to ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards, while coordinating subcontractors and trades across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Site Manager with the overall delivery of the 100-unit development.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site trades.
- Monitor programme progress and ensure works are delivered to agreed timescales.
- Maintain high standards of quality throughout construction.
- Carry out regular inspections and ensure works comply with drawings and specifications.
- Support site health & safety requirements and company procedures.
- Assist with short-term programming, logistics and daily site planning.
- Monitor workmanship and identify issues before they affect programme or quality.
- Work closely with the commercial and technical teams to resolve construction issues.
- Help drive the project through to successful completion and handover.

About You
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Site Manager with a strong background in traditional-build residential construction.
You should be confident managing subcontractors, coordinating trades and working closely with a Senior Site Manager on a busy housing development.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience as an Assistant Site Manager on residential developments.
- Strong traditional-build housing experience.
- A good understanding of construction programmes, quality and health & safety.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive approach with the ability to solve problems and keep the project moving.
- SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS qualifications.

The Opportunity

Salary: £45,000–£55,000 depending on experience, plus an attractive package.
