Join One of the UK's Most Established Privately Owned Construction Companies

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, Walter Thompson, the major contracting arm of the FT Construction Group, is looking to recruit experienced Assistant Site Managers, Site Managers and Senior Site Managers to join our expanding team in various locations.

With over 100 years of delivering exceptional construction projects, we have built an enviable reputation for quality, reliability and long-term client relationships. Working with a portfolio of repeat private sector clients, we continue to deliver high-quality projects across the UK.

The Opportunity

Supported by our Head Office team in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of recently awarded and future projects, typically up to the value of £15 million in locations including Cambridgeshire, Midlands, West Midlands, Leicestershire and West Yorkshire. Applicants should be prepared to travel to projects within the regions in which we operate, with locations allocated to suit business requirements wherever reasonably practicable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
