Service Care Solutions are currently support a Inquiry who are recruiting for an Assistant Solicitor to join the legal team supporting the later stages of a high-profile Scottish Public Inquiry.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Scottish-qualified solicitor to work alongside senior legal professionals and the Inquiry Chair on a varied, high-profile caseload.

The Role:

You’ll play a key role across the warning letters process and final records work, including:

  • Proof-checking draft report chapters
  • Drafting and analysing warning letters and responses
  • Preparing briefings for the Chair
  • Advising on document retention and preservation
  • Reviewing evidence for Data Protection, FOI and Copyright considerations
  • Working closely with the evidence team and National Records of Scotland

About You:

  • 1+ year PQE and a current Scottish Practising Certificate
  • Experience managing large volumes of evidence/documentation
  • Strong legal drafting, analytical, and proofreading skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Adobe, and Excel
  • A flexible, team-focused approach

Hours:

  • Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
  • Office: Minimum one day per week (Tuesday)

Based/Working Nature: Edinburgh / Hybrid 1 day a week in office (Tuesdays) occasion ADHOC meetings | 1+ PQE | 6–12 months + potential extension

Salary: Stating from £62,111 - PAYE (INC HOLS) £276.66 - LTD DAY RATE £326.04
