Assistant to Sports Coach

Are you passionate about using sport to support students’ mental health and wellbeing? Aureus School is seeking an energetic, dedicated Assistant to our Sports Coach to bring enthusiasm, teamwork and a love of physical activity into the school day.

Your Opportunity

In this temporary role, you will work across both learning support and targeted sports intervention, using positive relationships and physical activity to improve students' engagement with school and learning, while helping students develop their sporting skills.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in coaching sports to children and young people
  • A sports qualification or NVQ L2 Teaching Assistant would be desirable
  • A genuine interest in mentoring young people, supporting their wellbeing, and building strong, positive relationships
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to working as part of a team
  • Confidence and clarity in communication

The Details

  • Start Date: November 2026
  • FTE Salary: GLF Associate 2.1 - £24,751 (FTE) Actual pro rata salary: £19,222 per annum
  • Contract: Temporary to cover absence
  • Hours: 32.5 hrs a week (Term time 39 weeks)
  • Closing Date: 16th October 2026 at 9.30am
  • Interview Date: TBC
