Assistant Store Manager - Vision Express Uxbridge
Are you an experienced retail leader looking for your next challenge? We're looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our Vision Express store in Uxbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded leader who enjoys being on the shop floor, motivating colleagues and driving sales performance in a fast-paced environment.
As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll work closely with the Store Manager to support the day-to-day running of the store, develop colleagues and deliver exceptional customer experiences. You'll lead from the front, using coaching, energy and commercial awareness to help the team achieve its goals.
This Assistant Store Manager role is ideal for someone with previous management experience who is confident leading people and making decisions. While optics experience is welcome, it isn't essential. We're particularly interested in candidates from retail, hospitality or other customer-focused sectors who can bring strong leadership skills and KPI-driven thinking.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
