Assistant Store Manager - Romford, The Liberty Shopping Centre
Join our busy Romford store and play a key role in supporting the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences and strong commercial results.
We're looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our Romford Liberty Shopping Centre store. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced retail leader who enjoys developing people, driving performance and creating a great experience for customers and colleagues alike.
As an Assistant Store Manager, you'll work closely with the Store Manager to support, coach and develop the team, ensuring the store delivers against key business objectives. You'll be confident leading people, conducting regular 1:1s, providing training and using KPIs to drive performance. In the Store Manager's absence, you'll take ownership of the store and lead the team with confidence.
What You'll Do
- Support the Store Manager in leading, coaching and developing colleagues
- Conduct regular 1:1s, coaching sessions and on-the-job training
- Drive sales and service performance through effective KPI management
- Support colleague engagement, performance management and development plans
- Deliver exceptional customer experiences at every opportunity
- Maintain high standards of operational excellence and compliance
- Take responsibility for running the store in the Store Manager's absence
- Create a positive, high-performing culture where colleagues can thrive

What We're Looking For
- Previous people management experience preferred
- Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills
- Experience supporting, developing and motivating teams
- Good commercial awareness and understanding of retail KPIs
- Confidence analysing performance and implementing improvement plans
- A customer-first approach with a passion for delivering great service
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
