I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Talents
- You have a background in retail sales and styling, ideally in premium or luxury fashion, and you know the difference between helping a customer and pushing a sale.
- You also have hands-on experience of retail operations and administration, with the kind of attention to detail that keeps records accurate without being asked twice.
- Above all, you can move easily between the customer in front of you and the compliance log waiting in the back office, giving both your full attention.
- Confidence with modern point-of-sale and stock systems is important, and Lightspeed experience is a bonus.
- You are warm, calm under pressure and someone the team can rely on.

Why Apply
This is a rare chance to shape how a young boutique runs, working side by side with the Store Manager and Owner. You’ll gain genuine breadth: styling and dealing with customers on the floor, alongside reporting, stock control, supplier management and health and safety leadership. First aid training is provided. For anyone building towards store management, few roles offer this much responsibility across both sides of the business.
NB Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to respond to every candidate. We will only contact those shortlisted for an interview. We are not able to provide feedback to unsuccessful candidates.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
