Our Streetworks team works closely with utilities, contractors and internal partners to ensure that all highway activities comply with the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.

About The Role
As an Assistant Streetworks Technician, you’ll support the delivery of inspections and monitoring activities across Buckinghamshire’s highway network. Working outdoors in all weather conditions, you will help ensure that streetworks are carried out safely, efficiently and to the correct standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and organise your workload to support the delivery of inspections across the county.
- Carry out sample, routine and core inspections in line with legislation and service priorities.
- Identify and report defects or issues of non-compliance, ensuring safety for all road users.
- Collect, input and analyse data using appropriate systems and produce reports as required.
- Support Streetworks Technicians and the wider team in delivering service improvements.
- Provide clear, professional advice to colleagues, customers and contractors, escalating issues when necessary.
- Note and report any wider highways defects while out on the network.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment at all times.

We’re looking for a confident and proactive starter that wants to grow with our service and develop their career in Streetworks and the wider Highways service. A quick learner with a keen eye for assisting our teams improving the lives of Buckinghamshire residents.

You’ll represent the service with professionalism and credibility. This role requires face-to-face working, out on site across Buckinghamshire. Access to a vehicle for inspections will be made available.

About The Business Unit
