Job Title: Assistant Support Technician
Contract Type: Permanent

Main Duties of the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Assistant Support Technician. The End User Devices team are UHS Digital's expert hub for desktops, laptops, printers, tablets, and many other types of IT hardware. You will be learning how to configure new devices, supporting audits by tracking down devices, and developing your skills as an IT expert.
This role is key to supporting our clinical teams by ensuring they have the correct IT equipment that works at the times it's needed.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities will include
- Provide 2nd line support for all assigned systems, including fault finding, diagnosis, and resolution of complex issues. This could include making edits to database records and configuration files, and reporting issues to software development teams.
- Make configuration changes or data corrections within assigned systems as required.
- Ensure that calls that are referred onto 3rd-party suppliers for a resolution are monitored and have progress updates until resolution.
- Process and resolve user service requests for relevant systems.
- Grant users access to assigned systems, in line with current policies and procedures.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Essential Criteria
- Level 4 NVQ or Diploma or equivalent experience
- Understanding of what it means to deliver good customer service
- Good all-round understanding of information technology
- Proficient MS Office user (up to and including M365)
- Experience with troubleshooting and solving problems
- Knowledge and understanding of the importance of data protection
- Experience of collaborating or working in a team
Desirable Criteria
- Previous experience as a user of complex digital systems
- Recognised IT qualification
- Knowledge of hospital patient flows
- Relevant experience of database administration / maintenance
- Basic knowledge of SQL
- Basic knowledge of any programming language(s)
- Previous experience of working in an IT Support service
