Assistant Tax Manager

London | Banking & Financial Services

£65-75,000 + Bonus + Package

A leading international financial institution is looking to hire an Assistant Tax Manager to join its London-based tax team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified tax professional to gain broad in-house experience across corporate tax compliance, reporting and advisory matters within a complex financial services environment.

Working closely with senior tax and finance colleagues, you will support the tax affairs of a diverse UK business platform and gain exposure to a wide range of direct tax issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of UK corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Support quarterly and annual tax reporting and disclosure processes.
  • Assist with corporation tax payments and related compliance requirements.
  • Help manage group relief, Corporate Interest Restriction (CIR) and other tax compliance obligations.
  • Support the preparation of tax calculations for statutory accounts.
  • Liaise with finance teams and other stakeholders to gather information for tax reporting and compliance purposes.
  • Respond to day-to-day tax queries from the business and finance functions.
  • Support interactions with external auditors and HMRC when required.
  • Assist with tax governance, controls and process improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to a variety of ad hoc tax projects and advisory work.

Candidate Profile

  • ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or nearing qualification).
  • Strong UK corporate tax experience gained within practice, industry or financial services.
  • Good understanding of UK corporation tax compliance and tax accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with both tax and non-tax stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach with a desire to build a long-term career in-house.
