Assistant Team Manager

Our client based in Coventry is seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager to support the leadership and operational management of services for adults with Learning Disabilities, Older Adults, and Physical Disabilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader to help deliver high-quality, person-centred services that promote independence, wellbeing, inclusion, and positive outcomes for individuals accessing support.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Service Manager and wider leadership team to ensure effective service delivery, lead and support staff teams, monitor quality and performance, and contribute to the ongoing development of services. You will play a key role in ensuring that services remain responsive to individual needs whilst maintaining high professional standards and achieving service objectives.

This position is ideal for an experienced practitioner or manager with strong leadership skills, a commitment to quality improvement, and a passion for supporting vulnerable adults to achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

Core duties include:

• Deputising for the Service Manager and supporting the day-to-day operational management of services for adults with Learning Disabilities, Older Adults, and Physical Disabilities.
• Supervising and supporting a team of Day Service Coordinators, ensuring effective leadership and management of support staff.
• Providing leadership, guidance, coaching, and professional support to staff to maintain high standards of service delivery.
• Ensuring that services are delivered in a person-centred way and are aligned to the assessed needs, preferences, and outcomes of individuals using the service.
• Monitoring service performance and quality through audits, observations, reviews, and quality assurance processes.
• Supporting service development initiatives and contributing to continuous improvement activities across the service.
• Working collaboratively with service users, carers, families, health professionals, commissioning teams, and partner organisations to promote positive outcomes.
• Ensuring services comply with relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and best practice guidance.
• Supporting workforce development, supervision, induction, performance management, and staff wellbeing.
• Assisting with resource management and operational planning to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
• Promoting strengths-based approaches that maximise independence, community inclusion, and individual choice.
• Supporting the management of complaints, concerns, compliments, and service feedback to improve quality and customer experience.
• Contributing to safeguarding responsibilities and ensuring that vulnerable adults are protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
• Preparing reports, performance information, and service updates for management and governance purposes.
