Blue Diamond Recruitment are pleased to be supporting a privately owned house builder in the West Midlands as they strengthen their technical team with the appointment of a Trainee or Assistant Technical Coordinator.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking individual looking to develop a career within residential development and house building.

Working within a close-knit and experienced team, you will gain valuable exposure to the technical aspects of residential development, supporting projects from the early stages of design and technical due diligence through to construction.

The role would suit someone at the beginning of their career who is keen to learn, take responsibility and develop their technical knowledge within a supportive environment.

The Role

As a Trainee / Assistant Technical Coordinator, you will provide technical and coordination support across a range of residential development projects, working closely with the Technical, Development and wider project teams.

You will liaise with external consultants, statutory bodies and other stakeholders to help ensure projects progress efficiently, information is accurately coordinated and key technical requirements are delivered within agreed timescales.

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to develop a broad understanding of the technical and development process within a privately owned house builder.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Technical team with the coordination and progression of residential development projects
  • Assisting with technical due diligence and early-stage investigations to identify site constraints, opportunities and potential technical issues
  • Coordinating information and applications with utilities, highways, statutory undertakers and other third parties
  • Assisting with pre-application and post-application technical submissions
  • Supporting technical assessments and reviews as part of land and development opportunities
  • Assisting with the preparation and collation of technical information for land transactions and key project milestones
  • Liaising with external consultants to coordinate drawings, reports, surveys and technical information
  • Supporting the appointment and management of technical consultants, including scopes of service and fee proposals
  • Maintaining effective document control and ensuring technical information is accurately recorded, distributed and archived
  • Assisting with the coordination of title information, land registry documentation and technical overlays
  • Updating project management systems and maintaining accurate records of key actions, information and deadlines
  • Supporting the Technical team with the preparation of information required for construction and site delivery
  • Attending meetings with internal teams, consultants and other project stakeholders where appropriate
  • Developing an understanding of technical requirements, statutory approvals, building regulations and the wider residential development process

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
