Job Title: Assistant Town Planner

Ref: BM332

Location: Maidstone

Salary: GBP29,000 - GBP35,000

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's leading independent planning consultancies, providing a wide range of expertise to the residential, industrial, commercial, education, and healthcare sectors. They are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team in Maidstone.

Duties For The Role Of Assistant Town Planner

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications
  • Undertaking research into planning policy, legislation, and guidance
  • Reviewing local and national planning policies and identifying their implications for development proposals
  • Assisting with planning appraisals and development feasibility assessments
  • Supporting the preparation of planning statements, reports, and other technical documents
  • Liaising with local planning authorities, consultants, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Monitoring planning applications and assisting with the management of project programmes
  • Attending meetings, site visits, and planning committees where appropriate

Requirements For The Role Of Assistant Town Planner

  • RTPI Accredited degree within town planning or another related discipline
  • Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or related planning environment, although strong graduates will also be considered
  • An understanding of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organisational abilities
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Confidence communicating with colleagues, clients, and external stakeholders
  • A proactive approach and willingness to learn
  • A genuine interest in the built environment, development, and planning
